==>>Daily - Don Barrett at www.laradio.com/. On 9/17/99 in Richard Wagoner column he said this will cost you $24.95 a year for the good stuff. Thanks to Don for the free service, but it's a little too "inside the business" for me. He updates the CURRENT NEWS section everyday, and there's a lot of stuff. His www.laradio.com/email.htm page lists email addresses for lots of radio people and some station and program web sites.

==>>almost daily - Gary Franklin - www.garyfranklin.com. Sometimes some radio.

==>>a few/week - Ron Fineman's www.ronfineman.com site is mostly TV, but the Links page refers to Radio and media sites. One link is www.radio411.com which then links to other radio sites.

==>>Weekly on Sun - Gary Lycan at www.ocregister.com (or www.ocregister.com/entertainment/radio.shtml ) writes the radio column in the Sunday edition of the Orange County Register newspaper. At the site, on the right side, click on Columns, then under Other, click on Radio. The button to the right of Help is Search, as in Search for "radio."

==>>Weekly on Fri - Richard Wagoner with a new site at members.home.net/rwagoner/ writes a column for the RAVE! magazine on Friday. Rave! is associated with the Daily Breeze newspaper. You can read his current and past columns and other tips at his web site. The list of radio stations is only in the paper. His columns back to January 8, 1999 are also at www.radioguide.com/wagner.html in one file to make a search easier. The Daily Breeze newspaper at www.dailybreeze.com doesn't usually carry any other radio information.

==>>whenever/monthly - Tomm Looney at www.radiodigest.com/ and go to the L.A. page www.radiodigest.com/losangeles/. Also "Talkin' Radio" at ladowntownnews.com/ or losangelesdowntown.com/.

Again, not a column, but may be fun, Yahoo links to a few radio network sites at dir.yahoo.com/News_and_Media/Radio/Networks. Wish they would be more complete. Like, they don't list CCC below.

clearchannel.com. Clear Channel Communications. Lots of stations.

www.cbsradio.com. CBS/Infinity radio. Second largest network? 11/4/00

The Orange County Register newspaper has a long list of radio shows, dated for Sunday. Looks like the only path to it is via www.ocregister.com and do a SEARCH for radio listing. Each week the URL changes? Nice list, but how about a link from the home page. If you see a better path, leave it on the Message Board.

Arbitron has a site at www.arbitron.com, but I didn't see anything interesting. You may have to pay for that.

History of old L.A. radio stations at www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Academy/5515/.

www.newradiostar.com. New site?, free radio/music-search engine, and lots of news. Do a find for Los Angeles to save time. You can try their search engine at newradiostar.com/starsearch.htm.

Sam Rubin has pages on KNX, KLSX, and KTLA, but I haven't found his own site yet (if available?). Gary Lycan says he broke the Jonathon Brandmeier departure story.

Or try Yahoo (L.A.) at Here. They don't even list this site, so how good can it be??

www.radiowatch.com isn't exactly a column but lots of content.

Also, Talkers Magazine at www.talkers.com.

Radio & Records at www.rronline.com. The trade mag, how could I forget them? Someone said it's all free now, but I haven't checked yet. (6/00)

Jeff Levy (mostly computers) at www.jefflevy.com does a short Question and Answer (Q&A) column in the Thursday LAT Business section starting about 3/00. This may only be in the paper. (6/16/00)

Radio Dave www.davesfunstuff.com/03art000.htm. Radio Dave's Newsbytes and stuff. Found it at alt.fan.la-radio using deja.com at www.deja.com/[ST_rn=md]/. I'm checking it out.

Toby Eddings at www.myrtlebeachaccess.com/news/weekly/rtv.shtml has a TV column from SC with some radio. He wrote one about the end of the Gina Smith computer show, but the title is Tom Snyder: see 3/21/99 column.

7/2/00 - Now it's a junk site - too bad. Chuck Rowe was at www.la-radio.com/, but starting 1/2000 or earlier, the site said "Out of Business." 6/00 - now it goes to another type of radio site.

The Los Angeles Times (LAT) newspaper also has radio info. The radio column (some weeks) in the Calender Weekend magazine on Thursday by several different writers needs someone interested in radio (more in Flashes). Most days there's a radio-tips list and some days a list of radio stations, but most days it only lists a few shows, mostly uninteresting ones. Every few months the tips on Sunday are more comprehensive but usually as uninteresting. The Morning Report, around page F2 most days or in the Calender Weekend magazine on Thursday, sometimes mentions radio. They don't usually put any of this information on their web site, but you can try www.latimes.com or www.calendarlive.com.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram newspaper mentions a few shows and most days lists radio stations in their daily radio-tips list but doesn't usually put it on their web site at www.ptconnect.com. The Sunday paper does list a few shows for Sunday and a few during the week.

Radio Gossip at radiogossip.com/ - On 1/26/00 Tomm Looney mentioned another web column in his web column. 6/10/00 - Now it references other sites, but some content remains.

Also check the computer-show web sites listed on Favorites (mostly Saturday & Sunday) for possible web-radio information.

Thanks to www.radiowatch.com for the links to Richard Wagoner, Tomm Looney, Don Barrett, and Chuck Rowe.

More to come. The * marks changes.
