** There was a 20%-off coupon in one of the free Filipino newspapers, good for 7/12 thru 7/14/99. I may try it.

Location. This is in a shopping strip at the north east corner of PCH and Normandie Ave. It's on the corner.

Geography. This is on the same corner as the Lotus B.B.Q & Thai Chinese Food (see review) and BZ Teriyaki, a take-out/sit-down place I probably won't review.

Introduction. They do a buffet, cook it yourself, order from the menu, and take out. I haven't eaten here, but I've been in a few times just to look around. They write the restaurant's name in Chinese and they call it a Japanese/Chinese restaurant, but it looks more Korean to me. They have the tables where you cook at the table and kim chi on the buffet.

Prices and hours for the buffet. You can have lunch, without the cook-it-yourself items, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $5.99. Lunch, seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., with cook-it-yourself is $6.99. Dinner from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. is $10.99.

Buffet Items. This quotes there menu, I didn't take notes. The menu usually shows all the items they would ever have on the buffet; it doesn't mean they have them all every day. Lunch includes sushi, squid, fried fish, pork chop, lamb, sea mussel, octopus, boneless beef, chicken, and hot dishes. Dinner includes crab, fish, more seafood, shrimp, and the lunch items. Both include fresh vegetables, salad, soup, fruit bar, jello, and ice cream. I do remember seeing several of the lunch items.

Summary. I don't go out to cook my own food, so I probably won't eat here or similar places for that feature. If that's your thing, give it a good check out before you sit down, and it's cheaper to try the lunch first. But, they also have 28 combo plates at $2.99 and include egg roll, fried won ton, salad, and rice. I might go back for that. Also, the most expensive items on the menu are crab and shrimp at $7.99
